Player’s Notice/Ruling

Watson’s Glen Golf Club has a full practice facility with a driving range, putting green and chipping area. Practice balls are included with no extra fee so please take advantage, come early and practice to have a good round.

Tees being played:

- If you are 60 years of age or older, you may play the white tees.
- If you have an average score of 90 or higher, you may play the white tees.
- All other players will play the blue tees (We have outlined these players in blue on the tee sheet)

Scoring:

You will be scoring yourself as well as one of the other players in your group. It is key that you not only pay attention to your own golf game but also to the person you are scoring so everyone is held accountable to a fair round. Always confirm scores with the person you are scoring as well as the person being scored by you after each hole. If there's a dispute in scoring, mark down both scores and bring up the issue to a member of the TGN committee at the end of the round.

Course Maintenance:

- Please follow cart rules the day of the tournament.
- Carts must remain on paths for par 3’s
- Look for black stakes indicating where carts can enter and exit the fairway/rough.
- Please fix divots on the green as well as divots on the fairway.
- Everything must be putt out… no ‘gimme’ putts

Relief:

- If you have hit your ball into a puddle, divot or repair area, you may clean the ball and take relief
without penalty, one club length no closer to the hole.
- If your golf ball is in play but you cannot get a swing on it (ex. You are stuck by a tree) you have
three options:

1. Move the ball one club length, no closer to the hole and take a one stroke penalty.

2. Move the ball as far back, in line with the flag, and take a one stroke penalty.

3. Take the ball back to where you hit your last shot and take a one stroke penalty.

- If a man made object is in the way of your swing, you may take the closest relief, no closer to the hole without penalty.

Stakes:

Provisional ball / No Stakes: At any point on the golf course, if you have hit your ball into an area where you are not sure you will find your ball and there are no stakes, please hit another shot from the same spot. Please indicate to your group that you are playing a provisional ball and the type of ball along with an identifier on the ball. (Ex. I am playing provisional, Taylormade 3) or (provisional Taylormade with a blue dot). If you find your first shot, you may play it and pick up your provisional ball. If you have not found your first ball you must play your provisional ball with a one stroke penalty.

White stake: If you have hit your ball into a white staked hazard, you will follow the lateral rule and drop at the point of entry, within 2 club lengths, no closer to the role. Even if you find your ball it will be unplayable.

- Red stake: If you have hit your ball into a red staked hazard, you may drop your ball at the point of entry, two club lengths, no closer to the hole with a 1 stroke penalty. If you find your ball in the hazard, you may play it but you cannot ground the golf club.

- Yellow stake: If you have hit your ball into a yellow staked hazard, you have three options:

1. If you find the ball in the hazard you may play it without grounding your club.

2. If your ball is lost, you can take the point of entry and drop your ball in line with the flag going as far back as you’d like with a one stroke penalty.

3. If your ball is lost you may hit your next shot from the same place you hit your last shot with a one stroke penalty.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION
